Tehran, December 6, 2024 – The Europe Today: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing in Tehran on Wednesday, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China.
Zhang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings and best wishes to President Pezeshkian.
Strategic Collaboration in Focus
Zhang emphasized Iran’s significant regional and international influence, describing the nation as a key strategic partner for China. He referenced the recent meeting between the presidents of Iran and China at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, where both leaders outlined strategic priorities to strengthen bilateral ties.
Reiterating China’s firm support for Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, Zhang assured Beijing’s readiness to implement the agreements reached by the two presidents and to promote stable, long-term growth in China-Iran relations.

President Pezeshkian, in turn, expressed his gratitude for President Xi’s greetings and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to deepening ties with China. He highlighted the strategic importance of the relationship and stressed the necessity of mutual support and practical cooperation to ensure the comprehensive partnership continues to thrive.
High-Level Talks on Comprehensive Cooperation
In addition to meeting with President Pezeshkian, Zhang held discussions with Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref. The talks centered on implementing the China-Iran Comprehensive Cooperation Plan, a framework designed to enhance bilateral collaboration across economic, technological, and cultural sectors.
The visit underscores the growing momentum in China-Iran relations, aligning with both nations’ shared vision for strategic and sustainable development amid evolving regional and global dynamics.
