Belarus Showcases Cultural Heritage at My Belarus Exhibition in Minsk

Minsk, December 29, 2024 – The Europe Today: Culture Minister Ruslan Chernetsky highlighted the diverse cultural heritage of Belarus at the My Belarus exhibition, which opened at the International Exhibition Center in Minsk. Speaking to journalists, the minister emphasized the unique offerings of each regional stand in the Cultural Projects zone.

“This venue cannot showcase all of our cultural achievements. No pavilion is big enough for that. However, our most remarkable cultural and historical achievements are on display here,” Chernetsky remarked.

The Vitebsk pavilion stands out for its focus on the region’s history and tradition of festivals, highlighting Polotsk, the cradle of Belarusian statehood. Visitors can also enjoy singing karaoke at the pavilion.

The Grodno Oblast pavilion celebrates folk art, including folk theater, crafts, and the traditional batleika. Guests can taste the Batskava Bulka bun. Meanwhile, the Brest Oblast stand offers the renowned Kobrin ice cream. “How could we not treat our guests to such amazing things as Batskava Bulka or the famous Kobrin ice cream? The entire spectrum of our cultural heritage is presented here,” the minister remarked.

Paintings by renowned Belarusian artists are also featured at the exhibition. “This pavilion represents the culture of Belarus, including in an interactive format,” Chernetsky added.

The seven-week exhibition includes performances by Belarusian artists, film screenings, and interactive presentations. Each evening will feature concerts by regional groups, with one region being highlighted every week. “Seven weeks – seven regions,” Chernetsky said, underscoring the inclusive representation of Belarusian culture.
