Beijing, January 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell on Monday, where they discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and expressed condolences over the recent earthquake in Dingri County, located in the Xizang Autonomous Region of southwest China.
Prime Minister Mitchell extended sincere condolences on behalf of the Grenadian government and people to China, offering support following the devastating earthquake that struck the high-altitude area. In response, President Xi expressed his appreciation for the gesture and reassured that China had swiftly completed rescue and temporary resettlement efforts. Xi emphasized that reconstruction work will be carried out as expeditiously as possible.
“The Chinese government is confident and capable of achieving victory in earthquake relief,” President Xi stated.
The two leaders also highlighted the steady development of China-Grenada relations in recent years, marked by mutual respect, political trust, and successful cooperation in various fields. Xi noted that both nations have made significant progress in strengthening ties and that the friendship between the two peoples has deepened.
Looking to the future, Xi expressed China’s willingness to further enhance cooperation with Grenada, particularly in aligning development strategies and achieving more tangible outcomes to benefit both nations.
