Beijing, March 5, 2025 – The Europe Today: Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on Jiangsu Province, a key economic powerhouse in east China, to play a leading role in the country’s overall development. Speaking on Wednesday during a deliberation with lawmakers from Jiangsu at the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), Xi emphasized the province’s strategic importance in advancing national goals.
Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, urged Jiangsu to take the lead in integrating technological and industrial innovation, deepening reforms, and promoting high-standard opening-up. He further highlighted the province’s role in implementing major national development strategies and setting an example in achieving common prosperity.
Jiangsu, known for its robust economy and innovation-driven growth, is expected to align with the central government’s vision for sustainable development, industrial modernization, and global competitiveness.
