Baku In observance of the holy month of Ramadan, an Iftar ceremony was organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The event gathered members of martyr families from various regions and remote villages of Azerbaijan, alongside war veterans and gazis.
The ceremony was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva. As part of the event, verses from the Holy Quran were recited, and prayers were offered for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
During the gathering, speakers paid tribute to the valor of the Azerbaijani Army, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev. They reflected on the significance of the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from Armenian occupation and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes.
Well-wishes were extended for the prosperity, peace, and stability of Azerbaijan. Special prayers were offered for the martyrs, while expressions of gratitude were directed toward the country’s leadership. Additionally, prayers for the health and well-being of war veterans and the continued strength of the Azerbaijani Army were conveyed.
The event was held as part of the “My Son is a Hero” project, an initiative led by “Fire Land Group” with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. The program also featured performances by renowned Azerbaijani artists, further enhancing the atmosphere of reverence and unity.
Azerbaijan continues to honor the legacy of its fallen heroes through a series of events under the “My Father is a Hero” and “My Son is a Hero” projects. These initiatives bring together families of martyrs and war veterans across different regions, ensuring their sacrifices remain forever remembered and cherished.
