Estonian Ambassador Visits Turkmen Institute of International Relations to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Ashgabat, March 17, 2025 – The Europe Today: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Astana), Mr. Jaapa Ora, paid an official visit to the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan today.

During the visit, Ambassador Ora met with the Rector of the Institute, G. Yusupova, to discuss priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Estonia, particularly in the fields of science and education. The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering partnerships based on mutual respect and equality.

Following the meeting, the ambassador toured the Museum of the History of Turkmen Diplomacy and the UNESCO Club “Culture of Peace.” He also delivered a lecture to university students on the topic “Estonia in the World.” The lecture highlighted the political-diplomatic, socio-economic, and cultural-humanitarian dimensions of bilateral relations, as well as the strategic priorities of Turkmen-Estonian multilateral cooperation within international organizations.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Estonia were established in 2015 and have since developed through a mutually beneficial partnership. The visit of Ambassador Ora to the Institute of International Relations reflects the ongoing commitment to further strengthening cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
