Singapore, Brunei Agree to Deepen Energy Cooperation, Strengthen Supply Chains

Singapore, April 18, 2026 – The Europe Today: Singapore and Brunei have agreed to enhance energy cooperation and reinforce supply chain resilience in response to growing global uncertainties, including the escalating conflict in the Middle East, Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said.

In a social media post, Wong confirmed that he held a telephone conversation with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, during which both leaders discussed their countries’ responses to the evolving geopolitical situation.

“As close and trusted partners, we will continue to stay open, keep essential trade and supply lines flowing, and support one another,” the Singaporean premier stated.

The leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining stable energy supplies and ensuring the continuity of critical trade routes amid regional and global challenges.

Prime Minister Wong further noted that relevant officials from both countries would follow up on the initiatives discussed, signaling continued engagement and coordination between Singapore and Brunei on key economic and strategic priorities.
