Washington, June 13, 2026 — The Europe Today: The U.S. Department of Justice has approved Paramount Skydance’s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros, clearing the way for one of the largest media deals in recent years, valued at more than $110 billion.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Justice Department’s Competition Division confirmed that its review concluded the transaction is “not likely to harm competition or American consumers.”

The decision effectively gives the green light to the landmark merger, which is estimated to be worth over 1,000 billion Swedish kronor.

According to the department, the assessment focused on potential impacts on market competition and consumer interests within the U.S. media and entertainment industry.

Officials found no sufficient grounds to block the deal, allowing Paramount Skydance to proceed with its acquisition of Warner Bros.

The approval marks a significant development in the global media landscape, as consolidation among major entertainment companies continues to reshape the industry.
