Dushanbe, July 16, 2026 – The Europe Today: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Idibek Qalandar met with Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS), in Brussels on July 15 to discuss strengthening political and security cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 13th High-Level Political and Security Dialogue between the European Union and Central Asia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the two sides reviewed key aspects of constructive political and security cooperation, with particular emphasis on the implementation of agreements reached during the First Central Asia–European Union Summit.
The discussions also covered a range of issues of mutual interest, reflecting the shared commitment of Tajikistan and the European Union to deepening dialogue and enhancing cooperation on regional and international matters.
The meeting underscored the importance both sides attach to advancing the Tajikistan–EU partnership through sustained engagement and the effective implementation of jointly agreed initiatives.
