Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Visits Reconstruction Projects in Ukraine’s Irpin

Irpin, August 7, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov visited the Ukrainian city of Irpin on August 6 as part of his official visit to Ukraine, reviewing reconstruction projects supported by the Government of Azerbaijan.

During the visit, Bayramov first paid tribute to the memory of prominent Azerbaijani ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva by laying flowers at her monument in Irpin.

The Azerbaijani foreign minister subsequently visited the Irpin City Central Polyclinic, which was severely damaged during the hostilities and later restored with the support and assistance of the Government of Azerbaijan and SOCAR Ukraine.

Bayramov was informed that the renovated medical facility had been handed over to the Ukrainian authorities following extensive reconstruction work. The project included renovation of the building’s façade and roof, replacement of windows, installation of modern fire-safety and ventilation systems, and construction of a new shelter in the basement.

The minister also visited the Irpin Humanitarian Lyceum “Linguist” named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, another facility restored with the support of the Azerbaijani government.

During his visit to the museum dedicated to Zarifa Aliyeva, Bayramov was informed that the educational institution had undergone comprehensive renovation within a short period in accordance with an instruction issued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

A generator was also provided to the school to help address challenges related to electricity supplies and ensure continuity of educational activities.

The Azerbaijani foreign minister was further briefed on additional reconstruction projects planned by the Government of Azerbaijan in Irpin. According to the information provided, four more large-scale projects are scheduled to be implemented in the city.

The ongoing initiatives underscore Azerbaijan’s continued support for Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts and reflect the strengthening of humanitarian and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
