Copenhagen, August 10, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Danish Nature Agency has yet to locate a wolf that has repeatedly entered private gardens in Nørre Nebel, West Jutland, prompting authorities to intensify efforts to track the animal.
According to Danish news agency Ritzau, the wolf entered private gardens in the area on at least three occasions. Following the incidents, authorities established a designated zone where the wolf can be shot, amid concerns over its repeated proximity to residential areas.
The Danish Nature Agency is currently conducting a search involving two personnel. One is operating a heat-seeking drone to identify the animal from the air, while a ground patrol is also involved in the search.
The latest search operation on Friday failed to locate the wolf. Authorities are continuing efforts to track the animal and assess the situation in the affected area.
The incidents have attracted increased attention after the wolf reportedly approached children playing in private gardens in Nørre Nebel and did not immediately retreat when people attempted to scare it away by shouting or clapping.
The Danish authorities have responded by strengthening monitoring measures and deploying thermal drone technology to help locate the animal, while maintaining a ground search operation.
