Dushanbe, November 2, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon on November 1 inaugurated a new fruit and vegetable processing plant, specialising in the production of fruit juices and refreshing beverages, established by the Sirdaryo Limited Liability Company in Bobojon Ghafurov District.
The newly established facility is equipped with five technological production lines designed for manufacturing plastic containers, fruit juices and refreshing drinking beverages. The enterprise was established by the Karimzoda entrepreneur brothers and has created employment opportunities for 85 local specialists.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 240 tonnes of fruit juice and 400,000 litres of refreshing beverages, contributing to the expansion of domestic food processing and industrial production.
During the inauguration ceremony, it was highlighted that the introduction of modern production technologies would enable the timely processing and packaging of agricultural produce, reduce post-harvest losses in fields and increase the processing of locally sourced raw materials.
The imported technologies from technologically advanced countries will allow the enterprise to process agricultural products in accordance with established quality requirements and transform locally grown produce into natural industrial products.
The establishment of the processing facility is also part of Tajikistan’s fourth national strategic priority — accelerated industrialisation — which aims to facilitate the country’s transition from an agrarian-industrial economy towards an industrial-agrarian economic structure.
President Emomali Rahmon called on representatives of the private sector and relevant industry institutions to make full use of the plant’s technological capabilities, strengthen the collection and processing of local agricultural raw materials, and focus on manufacturing competitive products that can meet the requirements of international markets.
The inauguration also highlighted the growing industrial development of Bobojon Ghafurov District. According to the information presented during the event, 74 industrial enterprises have been established in the district over the past five years, creating approximately 900 jobs.
The new facility is expected to strengthen the country’s agricultural processing sector, generate employment, reduce wastage of locally produced fruits and vegetables, and expand opportunities for supplying value-added products to domestic and international markets.
