Baku, September 07, 2024, The Europe Today: In a series of operations conducted from August 31 to September 6, police officers successfully seized a significant cache of weapons and ammunition, including automatic rifles, machine guns, and grenades, according to a report by the News Hub Consultants.
The operations, focused on various regions, resulted in the following recoveries:
- From Khankendi: 11 automatic rifles, 1 machine gun, 4 pistols, 6 shotguns, 11 grenades, 1 grenade launcher, 3 detonators, 4 bayonets, 200 magazine clips, and 9,786 rounds of various calibers.
- From Shusha: 1 automatic rifle.
- From Khojali: 18 shells.
Authorities noted that efforts to detect and neutralize leftover war materials and other sources of danger in the region are ongoing.
The police emphasized that clearing the area of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials remains one of the primary responsibilities of internal affairs personnel involved in the service. These operations aim to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any potential threats posed by these remnants of conflict.
