Uzbekistan and EU Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Brussels, December 14, 2024 – The Europe Today: The 17th meeting of the Uzbekistan – European Union Parliamentary Cooperation Committee took place in Brussels, with a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, led by Sodiq Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate.

The meeting focused on exploring the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, with significant progress highlighted in strengthening the partnership. Key areas of discussion included inter-parliamentary cooperation, sustainable development, trade, energy, and environmental initiatives.

Both sides underscored the importance of enhancing collaboration in these priority sectors, aiming for mutual growth and development. The meeting also highlighted the joint efforts to foster positive bilateral relations and address global challenges.

In a significant development, an agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the Uzbekistan – EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Uzbekistan in 2025, further advancing the ongoing dialogue between the two regions.
