Baku, March 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: On March 13, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), News Hub Consultants reports.
During the meeting, Rebeca Grynspan congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the successful organization of COP29 in Azerbaijan and commended the significant outcomes achieved during the conference.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the 12th Global Baku Forum, organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, highlighting its crucial role in addressing key global challenges.
The discussion also underscored Azerbaijan’s strong cooperation with UN institutions, including the country’s voluntary financial contributions to various UN programs.
Additionally, it was announced that Azerbaijan will host the World Urban Forum in 2026, further cementing the country’s commitment to global development. Azerbaijan’s achievements in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were also highly praised during the meeting.
