IDF Airstrike on Hezbollah Targets in Beirut’s Dahieh Suburb

Beirut, April 01, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out an airstrike on Tuesday in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahieh, marking the most significant escalation between Israel and Hezbollah since the truce signed in November.

According to the IDF’s statement on X (formerly Twitter), the airstrike targeted a Hezbollah operative who had “recently been directing Hamas operatives” and helping them attempt an attack on Israeli civilians. The IDF emphasized that the targeted individual posed an “immediate threat,” prompting the airstrike.

Lebanese media outlet Al Mayadeen reported that the attack resulted in the destruction of a multistory residential building, killing at least three people and injuring seven. Sources from Al Mayadeen stated that a regular member of Hezbollah was among those killed in the strike.

The situation marks a significant increase in hostilities in the region, following a period of relative calm since the November truce.
