Riyadh, April 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: The UAE national team earned a crucial 2-0 victory over Australia on Monday in the second round of Group B action at the AFC U-17 Asian Cup, held at King Fahd Sports City Stadium.
The win marks the UAE’s first three points in the tournament, placing them second in the group standings behind Japan, who lead with four points. Vietnam follows in third with two points, while Australia falls to fourth with a single point.
Mayed Adel opened the scoring early for the UAE in the 9th minute, and Mohammed Butti doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, sealing the team’s well-deserved triumph.
In the other Group B fixture, Vietnam and Japan played to a 1-1 draw, setting the stage for an exciting final round of group matches.
