Tbilisi, May 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, held a meeting with Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Culture, Giorgi Mirtskhulava, to explore opportunities for enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, according to a statement from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.

The meeting underscored the steady progress in Turkmen-Georgian cooperation and reaffirmed the mutual interest in strengthening bilateral relations through cultural exchange. Both sides highlighted the significance of organizing reciprocal Cultural Days, viewing them as key instruments in promoting greater understanding and people-to-people connections.

Ambassador Seyitmammedov outlined a number of forthcoming events planned in celebration of the United Nations-designated International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. He emphasized the embassy’s intention to collaborate closely with Georgian government agencies and members of the creative sector to implement a series of cultural and educational programs.

The two officials also exchanged views on the potential for themed cultural events to be held in both countries in alignment with notable national and international occasions. Deputy Minister Mirtskhulava expressed Georgia’s readiness to deepen cultural dialogue and affirmed his ministry’s support for future joint initiatives.

The meeting followed a roundtable held earlier at Sokhumi State University dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust, reflecting the shared commitment to fostering mutual respect and cooperation through cultural diplomacy.
