Baku, July 07, 2025 – The Europe Today: A delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, accompanied by officials from the Ministry and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, paid solemn tribute at key national memorial sites in Baku on the occasion of the 9th Meeting of Azerbaijani Diplomatic Service Bodies.
The visit was held in conjunction with the July 9 observance of the professional holiday of Azerbaijan’s diplomatic service and was thematically linked to the meeting’s focus: “Azerbaijan’s Foreign Policy After the Restoration of Sovereignty: Priorities and Challenges.”
The program began at the Alley of Honors, where the delegation laid flowers at the tomb of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, paying their respects to his enduring legacy and contributions to the nation’s independence and diplomacy.
Subsequently, the diplomats visited the Alley of Martyrs to honor the memory of those who gave their lives for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. A wreath and flowers were placed at the Eternal Flame monument in a gesture of deep respect and national pride.
The commemorative visit concluded at Victory Park, where the delegation laid flowers at the Victory monument to pay tribute to the heroes of the 44-day Patriotic War.
This act of remembrance not only underscored the sacrifices made in the name of sovereignty and national unity but also reinforced the guiding principles of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy in the post-conflict era.
