Baku, August 11, 2025 – The Europe Today: On August 10, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a phone conversation with President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The two leaders reaffirmed the friendly and brotherly nature of relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE, recalling with satisfaction President Aliyev’s recent visit to the UAE and his meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
During the discussion, they underscored the significance of the Joint Declaration signed by the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia under the witness of U.S. President Donald Trump during President Aliyev’s visit to Washington, along with other signed documents. The leaders emphasized these outcomes as vital steps toward ensuring lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, while expressing high appreciation for President Trump’s role in achieving them.
President Aliyev highlighted the importance of the bilateral meeting held in Abu Dhabi in July, which contributed to agreements between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for his support.
Sheikh Mohamed congratulated President Aliyev on these achievements, stressing their historic significance.
The call also reviewed successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE in the energy sector, including renewable energy, and included an exchange of views on mutual investment opportunities.
President Aliyev extended an invitation to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to visit Azerbaijan, which was warmly accepted.
