Islamabad, February 19, 2026 – The Europe Today: President Asif Ali Zardari on the advent of the holy month of Ramazan extended heartfelt greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah, describing the sacred month as a period of mercy, forgiveness, and salvation.
In his message issued from Islamabad, the president said Ramazan offers a profound opportunity for self-reform, strengthening of faith, and the promotion of patience, sacrifice, and closeness to Allah. He emphasized that fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink but serves as spiritual training, moral purification, and a practical expression of responsibility.
Quoting a verse from Surah Al-Baqarah, President Zardari noted that fasting has been prescribed to believers so that they may attain piety. He added that the holy month reminds individuals of the enduring values of patience, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion toward the poor and vulnerable segments of society.
The president further stated that Ramazan encourages Muslims to deepen their bond with the Holy Quran, observe regular prayers, engage in supplication and remembrance of Allah, and foster brotherhood, tolerance, and unity within society. He highlighted that the month also inspires collective awareness to address and eliminate social injustices.
Urging the nation to fully benefit from the blessings of Ramazan, he called for the promotion of truth, honesty, justice, and service to humanity in daily life. He stressed the importance of demonstrating unity and responsibility for the country’s progress, stability, and prosperity.
President Zardari remarked that at a time when Pakistan is confronting various social and economic challenges, Ramazan brings a message of hope, patience, and collective solidarity. He expressed resolve that the nation should rise above personal interests and prioritize national and collective welfare.
Concluding his message, the president prayed that Allah Almighty grant the nation the ability to understand and act upon the true spirit of Ramazan, bless Pakistan with peace, stability, and development, and accept the prayers and good deeds of the people.
“Pakistan Zindabad,” he said.
