Beijing, March 17, 2026 – The Europe Today: National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, arrived in Beijing on Monday for a friendly visit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to Turkmenistan’s Watan habarlary news program, Berdimuhamedov held a brief meeting with officials at Ashgabat International Airport prior to his departure, during which he highlighted the steady and consistent development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and China.
Upon arrival in Beijing, Berdimuhamedov was welcomed by representatives from both the Turkmen and Chinese sides, reflecting the importance of the visit in further strengthening ties between the two countries.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the visit will take place from March 17 to 19 and is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
Berdimuhamedov last visited the People’s Republic of China in October 2023, and the current visit underscores the continued momentum in Turkmenistan-China relations.
