Pakistan, Malaysia PMs Exchange Eid Greetings, Reaffirm Commitment to Middle East Peace Efforts

Islamabad, March 26, 2026 – The Europe Today/GNP: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Anwar Ibrahim, during which both leaders held a warm and cordial conversation, exchanging greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr and offering prayers for unity and progress of the Muslim Ummah.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep appreciation to the Malaysian leader for his strong message of support for Pakistan’s leadership and his endorsement of Pakistan-led mediation efforts aimed at ending the ongoing hostilities in the Middle East.

The Prime Minister briefed his Malaysian counterpart on Pakistan’s latest diplomatic initiatives, including his engagements with leaders of brotherly Gulf countries and Iran, focused on bringing the United States and Iran to the negotiating table to ease regional tensions.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and shared details of his own interactions with global leaders, emphasizing the urgent need to bring an end to the conflict in the Middle East. He reaffirmed Malaysia’s full support for Pakistan’s peace efforts.

In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Malaysian leader and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing sincere and constructive efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation in the region.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue coordinating efforts for peace and stability.
