Azerbaijan, Georgia Reaffirm Strategic Partnership and Mutual Support

Baku, April 6, 2026 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia during a joint press statement with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

“We are confident that Georgia-Azerbaijan relations will continue to develop confidently from now on,” President Aliyev stated, underscoring the enduring partnership between the two neighboring countries.

Highlighting the depth of bilateral cooperation, the Azerbaijani leader noted that both nations consistently support one another within international organizations. He emphasized the shared commitment to fundamental principles of international law, including respect for territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders.

“As the Prime Minister noted, we have always supported, we support, and we will continue to support each other’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the inviolability of our borders,” President Aliyev added.

The remarks reflect the strong strategic alignment between Azerbaijan and Georgia, particularly in regional stability, diplomatic coordination, and mutual support on key international issues.
