Agadir, April 20, 2026 – The Europe Today: Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has taken delivery of a new Boeing 737-8 MAX, marking another step in its fleet expansion strategy aimed at enhancing operational capacity and modernizing its lineup.
According to reports, the aircraft arrived at Mohammed V International Airport under a lease agreement with Aviation Capital Group (ACG), as part of a broader contract covering six aircraft of the same type.
This delivery represents the second Boeing 737-8 MAX received by RAM, following the first aircraft delivered on March 31. The airline expects all six aircraft in the series to be delivered خلال 2026, reinforcing its ongoing fleet modernization efforts.
During the initial delivery, Thomas Baker, Chief Executive Officer and President of ACG, said the company is proud to support Royal Air Maroc through the lease and delivery program. He noted that the agreement builds on a longstanding partnership and supports the airline’s expansion with next-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft.
The newly delivered aircraft, registered CN-RHP, is powered by advanced LEAP-1B engines manufactured by CFM International and originates from ACG’s orderbook. The California-based lessor, a subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation, manages a global portfolio of around 450 aircraft leased to approximately 85 airlines across 50 countries.
For Royal Air Maroc, the acquisition comes at a pivotal time as it advances an ambitious expansion plan to transform Casablanca into a major global aviation hub linking Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
Abdelhamid Addou, Chief Executive Officer of RAM, has outlined a long-term strategy to increase the airline’s fleet from 60 aircraft to 200 by 2037, while boosting annual passenger capacity to more than 31 million.
The latest addition underscores RAM’s commitment to growth, efficiency, and strengthening Morocco’s position in global air connectivity.
