Pakistan, Tajikistan Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening UN Cooperation

Islamabad, April 17, 2026 – The Europe Today: A high-level meeting was held at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 16, 2026, between Yusuf Sharifzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Nabeel Munir, Special Secretary (United Nations), to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed key aspects of Pakistan–Tajikistan relations and underscored the importance of expanding collaboration within the framework of the United Nations. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening coordination on international issues of mutual interest.

The two officials highlighted that cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan at the UN platform holds significant strategic value, contributing to regional stability and global diplomatic engagement. They also expressed readiness to further enhance joint efforts and collaboration across multilateral forums.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining constructive dialogue and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
