Security Forces Kill 27 Militants in North Waziristan Operations: ISPR

Waziristan

Rawalpindi, June 8, 2026 – The Europe Today: Security forces have killed 27 militants during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted over the past 72 hours in the general area of Miran Shah, North Waziristan, according to the military’s media wing.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the operations targeted militants belonging to Fitna al Khwarij and resulted in intense exchanges of fire between security forces and the armed militants.

The military said that 27 militants were killed during the operations, while a cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered. According to the statement, the slain militants had allegedly been involved in a number of terrorist activities and targeted attacks against civilians.

The ISPR stated that the operation avenged the killing of Malik Saifullah Dawar, a prominent local figure who was recently killed in Miran Shah, adding that those responsible had been brought to justice.

The statement further said that sanitization operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants and dismantle their hideouts.

It added that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counterterrorism campaign under the framework of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, with the objective of eliminating militancy and strengthening national security across the country.
