Khojaly, July 25, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan continued its resettlement program in the liberated territories on July 24, as 53 families comprising 202 people were relocated to the Khojaly and Aghdara districts and officially received the keys to their new homes.
The key handover ceremony was attended by Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts.
The resettlement forms part of the Azerbaijani government’s broader efforts to facilitate the safe and sustainable return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their native regions following extensive reconstruction and infrastructure development.
Authorities said the initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to restoring normal life in the liberated territories by providing modern housing, improving public services, and creating conditions for long-term socio-economic development.
The latest relocation marks another milestone in Azerbaijan’s nationwide reconstruction and resettlement program aimed at rebuilding communities and supporting the voluntary return of displaced residents to their ancestral homes.
