Azerbaijani Delegation Visits Ethiopia’s MESOB Service Center

Delegation

Baku, July 30, 2026 – The Europe Today: A delegation of Azerbaijan, led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, visited the MESOB Service Center in Addis Ababa on July 29 as part of its official visit to Ethiopia, exploring the implementation of innovative public service solutions inspired by Azerbaijan’s successful ASAN Khidmet model.

During the visit, Azerbaijani officials were briefed on the activities and operational framework of MESOB, which was established to improve citizens’ access to essential government services. The center integrates more than 140 services provided by federal institutions under one digital and physical platform, enabling faster, more convenient and reliable delivery of public services.

The MESOB Service Center was developed following cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia, based on the ASAN Khidmet concept. In May 2024, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ethiopia’s relevant institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at implementing the Azerbaijani public service model in Ethiopia.

The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the National Palace Museum Complex in Addis Ababa, one of Ethiopia’s prominent historical and cultural landmarks, where they learned about the country’s statehood history, the legacy of the monarchic era and its rich cultural heritage.

In addition, the Azerbaijani parliamentarians toured the National History Museum Complex and viewed exhibits showcasing Ethiopia’s historical development and cultural traditions.

The visit highlighted the growing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia in the fields of public administration, innovation, cultural exchange and institutional development.
