Baku, August 28, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), in cooperation with eight tourism industry partners, including Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), has promoted Azerbaijan as a year-round tourism destination through a series of roadshows held across Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The promotional events took place in Shymkent, Almaty, Astana and Tashkent from August 21 to 27, bringing together more than 400 representatives of leading travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, media organizations and other tourism industry stakeholders.
During the roadshows, participants were briefed on Azerbaijan’s year-round tourism opportunities, recent developments in the country’s tourism sector and a diverse range of tourism products.
The presentations highlighted Azerbaijan’s broad tourism offerings, including beach tourism along the Caspian Sea coast, ski resorts, wellness tourism, gastronomy, outdoor and adventure activities, cultural tourism and modern tourism infrastructure.
Business-to-business (B2B) meetings held alongside the events provided tourism representatives from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan with opportunities to establish contacts with Azerbaijani counterparts, discuss prospects for cooperation and explore potential joint tourism projects.
The roadshows also showcased Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, national cuisine and traditional dances, offering participants an insight into the country’s cultural and tourism attractions.
Tourism exchanges between Azerbaijan and the two Central Asian countries have continued to grow. During January-July 2026, the number of visitors from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan rose by 5.5 percent compared with the same period in 2025, reaching 62,079.
Visitor numbers from Uzbekistan recorded even stronger growth, increasing by 40.2 percent year-on-year to 42,288 during the first seven months of 2026.
The figures underscore the growing tourism ties between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and highlight the potential for further cooperation in the tourism sector.
