Islamabad, September 2, 2026 – The Europe Today: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda has been awarded the Medal of “Khizmati Shoista” (“For Meritorious Service”) in recognition of his contributions to the country.
The award was conferred by Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, on August 28, 2026, on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The state distinction recognizes Ambassador Sharifzoda’s meritorious service and contribution to advancing the interests of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s State Independence is being marked with national celebrations and events highlighting the country’s achievements and its development since gaining independence.
