Baku, The Gulf Observer: The foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan held another round of consular consultations in Ashgabat on September 2, focusing on the current state and prospects of bilateral consular cooperation.
The consultations addressed measures to strengthen the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of both countries, including proposals to simplify existing visa arrangements.
The two sides also exchanged views on cooperation in a number of related areas, including internal affairs, citizenship, migration, justice and education, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the consultations, the heads of the Azerbaijani and Turkmen delegations signed the meeting protocol.
The sides also agreed to convene the next round of consular consultations in Baku in 2027, continuing efforts to further strengthen practical cooperation between the two countries in the consular sphere.
