Ashgabat, September 10, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Secretariat of the C5+1 multilateral cooperation format, bringing together the five Central Asian countries and the United States, held its regular meeting in Ashgabat on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
The meeting focused on further strengthening the C5+1 framework and advancing practical cooperation on priority issues of the regional agenda. Participants emphasized the importance of regular engagement within the format to promote regional cooperation and joint initiatives.
The participants reviewed progress in implementing agreements reached during previous engagements and exchanged views on proposals aimed at further developing the multilateral cooperation agenda.
Particular attention was given to expanding cooperation in critical minerals, trade and transport, reflecting efforts to deepen economic and connectivity-related ties between Central Asia and the United States.
The meeting also addressed practical cooperation between the Central Asian states and the United States, including efforts to strengthen interaction among relevant government agencies and expert groups.
Participants discussed preparations for forthcoming meetings and events within the C5+1 framework, as well as related organizational matters.
The meeting concluded with agreement on further steps to continue the work of the Secretariat and prepare for planned activities under the C5+1 format.
