Peshawar, September 22, 2026 – The Europe Today: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reiterated the armed forces’ resolve to eliminate terrorism and ensure lasting peace and stability across Pakistan.
During his visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar on September 22, Field Marshal Munir was briefed on the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, border management measures and the operational preparedness of formations deployed in the region.
The CDF said the armed forces, with the support of the Pakistani nation, remained determined to defeat terrorism and establish lasting peace across the country. He directed the formations to maintain vigilance and ensure the highest standards of operational preparedness.
Field Marshal Munir also commended the morale, readiness and professionalism of officers and troops, acknowledging their continued commitment to safeguarding the country and its people.
During the visit, he laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-i-Shuhada and offered Fateha for personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty and during counter-terrorism operations. He paid tribute to their sacrifices and said the services rendered by the martyrs would always be remembered.
The visit came amid continued security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to reports, the security situation, counter-terrorism operations and border management were among the key matters reviewed during the CDF’s visit.
Field Marshal Munir has also reiterated on previous occasions that sustained efforts by security forces and law-enforcement agencies, supported by the people, are essential for establishing lasting peace and stability in areas affected by terrorism.
