Ashgabat, September 26, 2026 — The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has invited Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to attend the COP31 Leaders’ Summit, scheduled to take place on November 11–12, 2026, in Antalya, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
The invitation was conveyed in a congratulatory letter from President Erdogan to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of his birthday.
In the letter, Erdogan conveyed congratulations on behalf of the people of the Republic of Türkiye and on his own behalf, extending wishes for good health, well-being and longevity to the Turkmen President.
The Turkish President highlighted the steadily developing relations between Türkiye and Turkmenistan, emphasizing that bilateral ties are rooted in shared language, culture, religion and historical heritage.
He noted that cooperation between the two countries has continued to expand at both bilateral and multilateral levels, including within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
Erdogan concluded his message by wishing President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and his family good health and happiness, and the people of Turkmenistan continued well-being and prosperity.
Meanwhile, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also received congratulatory messages from Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Governor of St. Petersburg, Russia, Alexander Beglov, on the occasion of his birthday.
