Ashgabat, September 29, 2026 — The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed decrees awarding high state honors to military personnel and employees of the country’s military and law enforcement agencies, Turkmen state media reported.
The decrees were issued on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and provide for the conferral of military and special ranks, as well as professional qualifications, on a group of military personnel and law enforcement employees.
Under the presidential decrees, a number of military personnel and employees were also awarded state medals in recognition of their contributions to safeguarding Turkmenistan’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and security, strengthening the country’s defense capabilities, and maintaining public and legal order.
The honors further recognize personnel for their exemplary performance of official duties and dedicated service.
In addition, a group of leaders, military personnel and employees of military and law enforcement agencies received the Turkmenistan jubilee medal “Participant in the Ceremonial Military Parade Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence.”
The medal was awarded in recognition of their active participation in the ceremonial military parade marking the 35th anniversary of Independence and their personal contributions to its successful organization.
