Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Holds High-Level Meeting with Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources

Baku, February 26, 2024, The Europe Today: Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev. The meeting, as reported by Kazakh media, focused on crucial aspects of environmental diplomacy, addressing global and regional environmental challenges.

During the meeting, the distinguished representatives discussed the promising future of ‘green’ diplomacy and exchanged perspectives on urgent matters within the global and regional environmental agenda. Ambassador Alim Bayel took the opportunity to extend congratulations to Minister Mukhtar Babayev on Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), scheduled to take place in Baku in November 2024.

Minister Mukhtar Babayev emphasized that COP29 is anticipated to be one of the largest and most attended events hosted by Azerbaijan, underlining the country’s commitment to addressing climate change on a global scale.

The discussion extended to a range of Kazakhstani initiatives aimed at supporting climate dialogue in the region.
