Bakhtiyor Saidov Holds Telephone Conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

Tashkent, May 15, 2024, The Europe Today: Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, engaged in a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov.

Minister Saidov, in his statement on his official Telegram channel, noted, “We had a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. I congratulated my colleague on his recent re-appointment. We also exchanged views on the issues within the schedule of upcoming events on the Uzbek-Russian bilateral agenda.”

This conversation underscores the ongoing dialogue and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia. The two ministers discussed various aspects of the strategic partnership between their countries, including economic collaboration, cultural exchanges, and regional and international issues.

It is worth recalling that the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia had previously met during the diplomatic forum held in Antalya, Turkey, in early March. During that meeting, they considered a range of topics pertinent to Uzbekistan-Russia relations, further cementing the strong ties between the two nations.
