Kazakhstan Ambassador Meets with Oslo Mayor to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Oslo, May 17, 2024, The Europe Today: Adil Tursunov, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Norway, held a meeting with Anne Lindboe, the Mayor of Oslo, as reported by Kazakh media. The discussion focused on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, Ambassador Tursunov briefed Mayor Lindboe on Kazakhstan’s ongoing political and economic reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He highlighted key achievements and the future prospects of Kazakh-Norwegian collaboration, emphasizing the success story of Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital city.

Mayor Lindboe shared her positive memories from her visit to Astana in 2016, when she served as Norway’s Ombudsperson for Children. Reflecting on her current role as Mayor, Lindboe emphasized her commitment to making Oslo a city where everyone can achieve their dreams. She underscored the importance of continuing to leverage green technologies, a principle that earned Oslo the title of Green Capital of Europe in 2019.

The discussions also touched upon the potential for joint cultural and sports projects between Astana and Oslo, aiming to strengthen the cultural ties and foster mutual understanding between the two cities.
