Bandar Seri Begawan, October 01, 2024 – The Europe Today: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, presided over the 31st Civil Service Day celebration at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas, where he presented the prestigious Premier Innovation Award (AIP) 2024 to the top-performing projects.
A total of 13 project papers were submitted and evaluated by the AIP panel of judges, which focused on project selection, implementation mechanisms, results, impact, challenges, and future plans. However, no project was deemed eligible for the Gold Award this year. The Silver Award was granted to two teams: Hemaheroes from the Department of Laboratory Services at the Ministry of Health, for their innovative project ‘Implementation of Bloodkad Mobile Application Through Public-Private Partnership,’ and MUSAEADAT JPPK from the Directorate of Development and Work Services at the Ministry of Defence.
The Bronze Award was presented to the NLMS group from the Labour Department at the Ministry of Home Affairs, for their project ‘National Labour Management System.’ All award recipients received a grant, a trophy, and a certificate of appreciation.
In addition, eight project teams from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications were honored with consolation prizes. These teams, recognized for their innovative contributions, received trophies and certificates of appreciation. Projects included initiatives such as the ‘Brunei Digital E-Arrival Card’ and ‘Poslaju Medicine: Revolusi Perkhidmatan Pos Kepada Orang Ramai.’
This year’s competition was open to both ministries and government departments, allowing individual and group participation. It emphasized key areas such as improving public service delivery through information technology, fostering innovation, enhancing integrity and accountability, and streamlining processes to contribute to business facilitation.
