Brunei Crown Prince Visits Leju Robot and Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen

Shenzhen, May 15, 2026 – The Europe Today: His Royal Highness Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei, visited the headquarters of Leju Robot and Huawei in Shenzhen on Thursday as part of his official engagements focused on technological innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.

Visit to Leju Robot Headquarters

Upon arrival at Leju Robot Headquarters, His Royal Highness was welcomed by Professor Leng Xiaokun, Chief Executive Officer Chang Lin, and Vice President Zhendong Ke.

During the visit, the Crown Prince received a briefing on the company’s advanced robotics technologies and innovations in artificial intelligence-driven automation. He also observed live demonstrations showcasing the company’s latest smart robotics applications and capabilities.

Established in 2016, Leju Robot specialises in the development and manufacturing of full-sized humanoid robots, including KUAVO, AELOS, and PANDO. The company is known for its expertise in robotics programming and coding technologies that can contribute to enhancing digital literacy and technological skills among students.

The visit also provided an opportunity to explore approaches to AI governance and the use of advanced technologies in education policy, smart curriculum development, and technology-based learning systems designed to support future educational needs.

Visit to Huawei Headquarters

His Royal Highness later continued his official programme with a visit to Huawei Headquarters, where he was received by Wang Jianfeng, Supervisory Board Member and President of Huawei’s Public Affairs and Communications Department.

At the headquarters lobby, the Crown Prince viewed a presentation highlighting Huawei’s presence in Brunei since 2003 and the company’s contributions to the country’s communications, connectivity, and education sectors.

The Crown Prince then visited the Von Neumann Exhibition Hall, where he was briefed on Huawei’s technological achievements and collaborative initiatives with government agencies in Brunei Darussalam.

The exhibitions included presentations on Brunei’s Sovereign AI Infrastructure framework, Huawei’s corporate social responsibility initiatives in digital education, and the company’s partnership with Baiduri Bank to strengthen data centre and network capabilities aimed at building a secure and future-ready banking ecosystem.

The displays also highlighted how AI-powered technologies can support Brunei’s national vision of becoming a smarter, more efficient, and citizen-centric country.

During the visit, His Royal Highness participated in a remote session between Huawei and Universiti Teknologi Brunei, where he met Bruneian winners of the Huawei ICT Awards programme.

In a subsequent meeting with Wang Jianfeng, the Crown Prince expressed appreciation for Huawei’s continued support towards Brunei’s innovation-driven national development strategy and recognised the active participation of Universiti Teknologi Brunei in the Huawei ICT Competition.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of the CIPTA and BICTA Awards in encouraging innovation, creativity, and technological advancement among Bruneian students.

As part of the visit, His Royal Highness experienced a ride in the Maextro S800, a self-driving luxury electric sedan launched in 2025, before concluding the programme with a tour of the Huawei Flagship Store.

Founded in 1987, Huawei is globally recognised for its contributions to information and communications technology, digital transformation, 5G and emerging 6G technologies, artificial intelligence-driven telecommunications, and smartphone manufacturing.

In Brunei Darussalam, Huawei has served as a key telecommunications provider since 2005. The establishment of the Huawei Academy at Universiti Teknologi Brunei is expected to further strengthen technical training, professional certification, and workforce readiness in the technology sector.
