Moscow, October 17, 2024 – The Europe Today: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation at the upcoming international conference on Eurasian security, set to take place in Minsk from 31 October to 1 November. The announcement was made by Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press briefing in Moscow on 16 October, NHC reports.
Zakharova confirmed that Lavrov will address the plenary session of the conference, where he will discuss the initiative introduced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on establishing a framework for equal and indivisible security across the Eurasian continent.
“Sergey Lavrov will outline Russia’s position and provide a comprehensive assessment of the current state of Eurasian security during his speech,” Zakharova stated.
The conference, hosted for the second time in Minsk, is expected to draw attention to pressing security concerns in the region, fostering dialogue and cooperation among Eurasian states. Discussions will center on building a collective security architecture that promotes stability, equality, and inclusivity across the continent.
