Pahang Prince’s Wedding Festivities to Embody Tradition and Splendor

Kuantan, October 21, 2024 – The Europe Today: The Pahang Sultanate has announced that the highly anticipated wedding celebrations of Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah, son of the Sultan of Pahang, will commence on Tuesday (October 22) at Istana Abdulaziz. The royal matrimony will unite the Prince with his bride, Tengku Natasya Puteri Tengku Adnan, in a vibrant display of Pahang’s rich cultural traditions.

In an official statement shared via their Facebook page on Monday, the Sultanate confirmed that the festivities will begin with the Istiadat Meletak Kerja ceremony. “The ceremonial proceedings will be marked by a sequential firing of 16 cannon shots, following the proclamation by Brigadier General Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah at approximately 9:30 AM, culminating with a prayer,” said the post.

The Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will attend the Yasin and Tahlil Recital and Doa Selamat at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque later that evening at 6:30 PM.

On Thursday, October 24, at 8 PM, the solemnisation ceremony, led by the bride’s father Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, will take place at Balai Mahkota Istana Abdulaziz. The wedding events will continue on Friday, October 25, with the Istiadat Berinai, and the Royal Reception on Sunday, October 27, both starting at 8 PM.

To allow the public to partake in the celebrations, live broadcasts of the Istiadat Akad Nikah, Istiadat Berinai, and Istiadat Persandingan will be aired on large screens at Kuantan City Council Square and Pekan Square.

The Pahang customs will further be celebrated with the Istiadat Santap Nasi Adap-Adapan, Istiadat Bersiram, and Istiadat Menutup Kerja on October 28 at Istana Abdulaziz. The meal ceremony, set to begin at 4 PM, will be officiated by Tunku Azizah, followed by the water ceremony and prayers led by the Pahang Mufti Datuk Dr. Asmadi Mohamed Naim. A tea ceremony will follow.

The festivities will conclude with Tengku Amir Nasser lowering the flag and another sequence of 16 cannon shots, with prayers offered by the Pahang Mufti. The Sultanate also noted that additional events will be held at Kuantan City Council Square and Pekan Square throughout the celebration period.
