Turkmenistan and Malaysia Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation in Ministerial Phone Talks

Ashgabat, June 3, 2026 – The Europe Today: The foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Malaysia held a telephone conversation on Wednesday, reviewing bilateral relations and exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors.

According to an official statement, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov spoke with Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, also known as Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan.

During the discussion, the two sides exchanged views on a broad spectrum of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and educational fields. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and enhancing collaboration between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.

The conversation also focused on preparations for upcoming meetings and exchanges at the highest and senior levels, with the ministers reviewing organizational and substantive aspects of future bilateral engagements.

In addition, the two officials discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between the foreign ministries of both countries and emphasized the importance of maintaining regular diplomatic dialogue to advance shared interests.

The talks underscored the positive trajectory of Turkmenistan–Malaysia relations and both sides expressed readiness to continue working closely to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation in key sectors.
