Belarus Welcomes Around 9,000 European Visitors Through Visa Waiver Program

Minsk,  October 22, 2024 – The Europe Today: Belarus has welcomed approximately 9,000 European visitors over the past three months as part of its visa waiver program, according to data released by the State Border Committee. The program, which allows visa-free entry for citizens of select European countries, continues to attract a significant number of tourists and business travelers to the country.

Germany topped the list of inbound travel markets during this period, with 3,777 arrivals, followed by Estonia with 1,657 visitors. Italy, France, and the United Kingdom also ranked among the top five, recording 574, 314, and 303 arrivals, respectively.

Belarus’ closest neighbors have shown particular interest in the visa waiver program. Since the beginning of the year, Belarus has hosted 66,493 visitors from Latvia, 74,049 from Lithuania, and 34,691 from Poland.

Since the visa waiver program’s launch on April 15, 2022, Belarus has welcomed a total of 984,771 European visitors. The program is part of the country’s efforts to boost tourism and enhance cultural and economic exchanges with its European neighbors.

The visa waiver scheme continues to play a pivotal role in promoting Belarus as a destination for tourism and business, facilitating easier travel and fostering stronger international ties.
