Islamabad, October 28, 2024 – The Europe Today: According to the News Hub Consultants, Pakistan Army team has delivered an outstanding performance in the ongoing 17th Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Championship 2024, being held at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.
The championship has brought together the nation’s finest taekwondo athletes, showcasing exceptional talent, dedication, and a competitive spirit that exemplifies Pakistan’s martial arts community. Teams from the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Wapda, and regional organizations have competed in both male and female categories, with the Pakistan Army dominating numerous events.
In the Senior Male Kyorugi division, the Pakistan Army claimed top honors across various weight categories. Highlights include:
- Male -54 kg: Abu Bakar (Army) secured the gold, while Shahzaib (PAF) claimed silver, and M. Zahid Ali (Wapda) and Tazeel Hasnat (HEC) took bronze.
- Male -58 kg: Haroon Khan (Army) emerged as the champion, with M. Tayyab (HEC) taking silver, and Nisar Ahmed (PAF) and Abuzar (Punjab) rounding out the podium.
- Male -63 kg: Noman Khan (Army) clinched the top position, followed by Fareed Ahmed (PAF), Shameer (HEC), and Hussain Anjum (Wapda).
- Male -68 kg: M. Arbaz Khan (Army) led with gold, Sarmad Munir (Punjab) earned silver, while Abdul Rafay (HEC) and Shahzad (PAF) took bronze.
- Male -74 kg: Zubair (PAF) won gold, with Jabran (Railway), Zeeshan (Wapda), and Mehmood (Army) also placing.
In the Senior Female Kyorugi events, the Army team maintained its strong form:
- Female -62 kg: Zoya Sabir (Army) won gold, with Bibi Fazila (HEC) in second, and Sania (Gilgit-Baltistan) and Sidra (Wapda) taking bronze.
- Female -67 kg: Sarah Rahman (Army) claimed the top spot, followed by Maliha (HEC) with silver, and Uroosa (Gilgit-Baltistan) and Minahil (Wapda) sharing bronze.
