Islamabad, September 20, 2026 – The Europe Today: Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Movlamov participated as Chief Guest in the Ambassadors’ Dinner 2026, hosted by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad for foreign ambassadors accredited to Pakistan.
Addressing the gathering, the LCCI President and Vice-Presidents welcomed members of the diplomatic community, highlighted the Chamber’s key achievements and emphasized the significant potential for expanding Pakistan’s trade and economic relations with countries in the region and beyond.
Speaking on behalf of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Ambassador Movlamov thanked the organizers for the warm reception and highlighted the important role of the business community of Lahore and Punjab in promoting exports, attracting investment, creating employment opportunities and supporting economic growth.
Speaking about Turkmenistan’s regional policy, the Ambassador said the country’s leadership attaches particular importance to strengthening regional connectivity, including the development of transport links among countries of the region.
He highlighted the establishment of the “Arkadagyň ak ýoly” (Arkadag’s White Path) unified transit and energy corridor, as well as progress in implementing the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission project.
Ambassador Movlamov noted plans to complete the strategically important Serhetabat–Herat section of the TAPI gas pipeline this year, which is expected to create conditions for the commencement of natural gas supplies to Afghanistan in 2027.
He said the implementation of these regional infrastructure and energy projects would contribute to reliable access to cleaner energy while creating new opportunities for Pakistan’s industrial development and supporting sustainable economic growth.
The reception provided an opportunity for members of Pakistan’s business community and the diplomatic corps to exchange views on strengthening economic cooperation, trade and investment ties.
