Belarus and Russia Strengthen Investment Ties with New Roadmap Agreement

Minsk, November 2, 2024 – The Europe Today: The National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus (NAIP) and the Tula Region Development and Support Corporation of Russia have formalized a comprehensive plan of cooperation, establishing a roadmap designed to share best practices, facilitate information exchange, and promote mutual business visits. This significant development was reported by News Hub Consultants to “The Europe Today”.

The newly signed roadmap advances the cooperation agreement initiated in April 2024, aimed at bolstering mutual investment endeavors between Belarus and Tula Oblast. NAIP Director Dmitry Krasovsky emphasized the complexities inherent in fostering such investment partnerships due to the proximity of the two markets. “The problem of the mutual raising of investments between Belarus and Tula Oblast is certainly a harder than usual task,” he stated. Krasovsky explained that while attracting investment to a remote market may present clearer incentives, the shorter delivery distances between Belarus and Tula complicate the justification for business localization. Despite these challenges, he underscored the promising sectors ripe for investment, which require close collaboration to realize shared economic benefits.

In conjunction with this initiative, another pivotal agreement was signed at NAIP’s headquarters. The Tula Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mogilev branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry formalized their partnership, highlighting continued efforts to fortify bilateral economic ties. This agreement was signed during a visit by a Tula delegation led by First Deputy Governor of Tula Oblast Mikhail Panteleev, underscoring the ongoing commitment to fostering robust business connections between the regions.
