Minsk, November 24, 2024 – The Europe Today: Belarusian athlete Volha Nemahai emerged victorious at the prestigious Quzhou Marathon in Quzhou, China, as announced by the Belarusian Athletics Federation.
Nemahai completed the marathon, part of the World Athletics Label Road Races calendar, with a time of 2 hours, 41 minutes, and 48 seconds, finishing more than two and a half minutes ahead of Kenya’s Leah Jeruto, who claimed second place.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Nemahai, as it was only her second time competing in the full marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers. She made her marathon debut earlier this year at the Kazan Marathon in May.
Nemahai’s victory not only highlights her rapid rise in long-distance running but also solidifies her position as a promising talent on the international athletics stage.
