Beijing, December 6, 2024 – The Europe Today: Chinese Premier Li Qiang is set to host the “1+10” Dialogue in Beijing on the morning of December 9, with the participation of heads from 10 major international economic organizations. This announcement was made on Friday by Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.
The dialogue will include prominent figures such as Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank; Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank; Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization; Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development; Gilbert F. Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization; Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development; Agustín Carstens, General Manager of the Bank for International Settlements; Klaas Knot, Chair of the Financial Stability Board; and Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
Under the theme of “Building Consensus on Development to Promote Global Common Prosperity,” the dialogue will focus on three key topics: “Seizing Opportunities in Transformation to Promote World Economic Transition and Growth,” “Upholding Multilateralism in Advancing Reform and Development of the Global Economic Governance System,” and “China’s Endeavor to Further Deepen Reform Comprehensively and Break New Ground in Chinese Modernization.”
The meeting aims to foster discussions on global economic governance, multilateral cooperation, and China’s ongoing reforms, reinforcing the country’s commitment to promoting global prosperity and sustainable economic growth.
